Treasury FASAB Staff Support, 1991–2005
From 1991 until 2005 Allan Lund provided staff support to Treasury's FASAB member. He would prepare briefing materials for his session with his board member, meeting before each board meeting to provide a status report on FASAB-related developments and discuss all issues on the upcoming agenda.
Allan made a point to be on all the task forces so that he would be knowledgeable about everything related to FASAB. His intent was to provide high quality service to his board member. He took his staff support function very seriously and made every effort to be accurate.
Having been involved with FASAB from its inception, Allan acquired hundreds of binders of FASAB materials over 16 years. The FASAB Digest draws on that deep institutional knowledge to provide concise and timely reporting on FASAB projects — similar to an executive summary for those who need to follow federal accounting standards without reading every document in full.
